Mara (female)
This gentle girl came from a difficult start, rescued as one of the puppies from a homeless camp. She’s still very shy, but as sweet as can be. Mara is learning that the world can be a safe and loving place, and she continues to make steady progress every day.
Mara is kennel trained and house trained, and she thrives on routine. She loves spending time in the backyard, enjoys going to daycare, and has a playful side that shines once she feels comfortable. She knows “sit” and is eager to keep learning. She’s also been working hard on her leash training and now loves going on walks. Some of her favorite simple joys are chewing on ice cubes and munching on carrots.
Because of her timid nature, Mara must have another dog in the home to help guide her and build her confidence. With patience, kindness, and a canine companion by her side, Mara will continue to blossom into a loyal and loving best friend.
