Cutie Patootie Alert: Meet Kuura!

His name has a special meaning: Kuura means “Frost.” Kuura and his sister Lumi were found on a stranger’s porch during a snowstorm on January 24th, making his name a fitting reminder of how far he’s come and how lucky he is to be safe now.

Don’t let the photos fool you—Kuura may look like a full-size husky, but this handsome guy is only about 35 lbs. At around 6 months old, he may have a little growing left to do, but with his shorter legs he’s shaping up to be a perfect medium-sized best friend.

Kuura is super friendly with both dogs and people and brings all the fun, chaos, and comedy you’d expect from a growing pup. He’s playful, a little ornery, very funny, and yes—he occasionally talks back.

He’s already potty trained and crate trained, though he may protest vocally for a moment before settling in and snoozing like a champ. Kuura would thrive in a home with another playful dog, as he absolutely loves to play and wrestle with canine friends.

He’s doing great with leash training and picking it up quickly. Car rides are still a bit intimidating at first, but once he’s in, he’s a happy boy who knows adventure is ahead.

Cats haven’t been tested yet, but what we do know is this: Kuura is a happy, social, fun-loving pup ready to bring laughter, energy, and love into his forever home. If you’re looking for a playful sidekick with personality for days, Kuura might just be your guy.
