Guppie
This happy guy is Guppie. He has been in care for awhile, patiently waiting for his forever home. He is energetic and playful, kennel and potty trained, and just an all around great dog!
Guppie loves adventure. He doesn't care what it is, he just loves to be out and about, exploring with his people. He is a great companion and a working dog through and through. He is exceptionally smart and enjoys mental games as much as physical activity. He listens well and also has excellent recall. His DNA test revealed him to be 36% Husky, 15% Staffy, 11% Pit Bull and a smattering of 10-12 other breeds. A true super mutt!
Guppie currently lives in a foster home with a Pit mix sister, 2 cats and 2 kids, age 9 and 12. He is excellent with children and really enjoys running around the backyard with them. He also loves to play tug-of-war, chase and wrestle with his foster sister. Guppie would probably do best in a home with another playful dog to burn energy, but would also be fine as an only dog with an owner willing to make sure he gets plenty of exercise and stimulation. He is friendly with cats, but will chase them in a playful way. He does however, correct and redirect easily.
Guppie is 100% potty trained and non-destructive. In his foster home, he is only kenneled when no one is home. He is free to sleep where he wants at night, but he usually sleeps in his kennel. He puts himself to bed around 9pm and doesn't make a peep all night! Guppie is also not a chewer. He loves to have a pile of toys to play with and enjoys de-stuffing them, but knows what is his and leaves everything else alone. He does do some counter surfing, but only when he thinks no one is watching.
Guppie has been a Beauty for a little over 2 years! He often gets overlooked due to his energetic nature. While it's true that Guppie does need activity and exercise to be happy, he is actually very well behaved and pleasant in the home. He really looks to his people for guidance and direction and aims to please. Guppie just needs a fun-loving, active family to give him a chance.
