Geno
If Derp were a dog breed, Geno would be purebred.
I don't mean that in a negative way. But seriously, this boy is so laid back and wants nothing more than to hang out with his people.
I met Geno (was Keno) through our community assistance program when I helped facilitate his vetting services. Two months later, he was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter. His owners never reclaimed him. Fortunately he was chipped to Beauties and we were notified when he was picked up. He was then euth listed and I couldn't let him die in the shelter. He's been in foster with me for several weeks now. He's a really great dog!
Geno is a tall, thin, handsome, 2 year old pit mix. He weighs 62 pounds and we're working on helping him gain a little more weight.
He knows basic commands like sit, wait and kennel up. He's very food motivated so additional training with him should be a breeze. He's perfect on leash and consistently walks at my left with a loose leash. He does stop occasionally just to gawk at something but with encouragement, will walk again. He'd be the perfect walking companion for anyone.
He's gone to daycare and, other than being a little shy, he did well. I will have him cat tested but he has no prey drive so I'm hopeful he's cat friendly too.
