Einstein
Einstein has come a long way from the scared pup who first arrived at the Wichita Animal Shelter in January 2022. Due to his fearfulness in the shelter, he was transferred to the Kansas Humane Society’s Canine Courage program. While he made a little progress there, he mostly just wanted to melt into the floor and be invisible.
Thankfully, someone who worked closely with him at KHS saw his potential and brought him home to foster. After just a few days of decompression, Einstein began to reveal his true personality. He blossomed into a loving, playful companion who delighted in soft snuggles and joyful pup-kour zoomies.
Over the next few months, Einstein showed us what a wonderful dog he truly is. He is dog and cat friendly, potty and kennel trained, affectionate, well-mannered on leash, and not prone to digging or darting through doors or gates. He loves to sleep with his people and play with other dogs. He is still a little nervous in the car and can be shy in public, but he is continuing to build confidence.
Einstein was adopted by a kind older couple who loved him dearly. Unfortunately, health challenges forced a long separation in the home, and when his adopter returned from rehab, Einstein seemed confused and unsure. He did not recognize the routine or dynamic, and although it broke their hearts, his adopters made the difficult decision to return him.
Einstein is an incredibly sweet and sensitive dog who needs a stable, patient home. He requires another confident dog in the household to help him feel secure. Once he trusts you, he is deeply loyal, gentle, and full of love.
If you have a calm home, another friendly dog, and room in your heart for a truly special companion, Einstein just might be your perfect match.
