Doja is a fun loving, energetic girl looking for her Fur-ever family!

She loves the outdoors… sunbathing, bird watching, and running in the grass. The outdoor oasis helps her calm her anxieties. She is curious to noises, and checks out her surroundings quietly… She knows there are dogs on the other side of the fence, but doesn’t bark at them. However, she can become distraught by the noisy trucks on the street.

She is happy go lucky with a stuffy, and may even carry it around and play with it a couple days before destroying it.. ah, the feel of cotton pouring out of a perfectly sewn gorilla is her happy place.

She loves a good bone, one she can chew for an hour, but only if you’re close by. You don’t have to be right next to her, but definitely in eyesight.

Sometimes blanket forts tell her it’s time to chill, and helps her realize it’s okay to take a nap. She prefers to be outside of her cage, and once she even escaped her cage for a couple hours inside the home office. She simply laid in the rocking chair until her babysitter came home. She does better in a plastic crate compared to to a wire one, which will keep her safe.

She’s so eager to go on walks, & while she pulls quite a bit at the beginning, she begins to pace with you after a while, and the leash loosens.

Initially, She may guard her toy, but when she realizes you aren’t going to take it, it actually calms her to hold it in her mouth and get belly rubs. Otherwise, sometimes pets are overstimulating, except the “woo-saw” ear massages, those are nice anytime. As long as her dog sibling doesn’t try to take her toy, she will run and play with them until she’s pooped out.

With consistent training and a consistent routine, we think her anxious thoughts can be decreased.

She is very athletic, she is fast and can jump high. She would be a great one to do agility training with!

When meeting someone new, she is apprehensive and it’s scary, but once she knows and trusts you, she will jump up to say hello. She would do better in a home with older kids, who can help train her not to jump, and may do better in her kennel if there are a lot of guests over.
