Billie
Billie came to Beauties from a hoarding case with other dogs last year. She came to us a few short months ago. When she arrived, she was afraid to eat out of a bowl and would only eat out of my hand or off the floor. So, getting creative, and a soft, suctioned toddler plate later... Billie now eats on her own without prompting. Billie would hide behind our Juniper tree when going outside and foster mom would have to go get her to bring her inside. Billie also wouldn't go in or outside without being held. Now, she follows her foster mom everywhere in the house and runs outside. Billie is unsure about the resident dogs, 2 large and one small who's is older. However, she allows them to approach her and she will approach them. But she prefers day care where she can play with her friends the same size and energy as her. Billie is kennel trained and as she has adjusted, she would spend time outside her kennel on a pillow next to it, and this past weekend has chosen to sleep upstairs in the main bedroom.
Billie says that the ideal home for her will be one where there is another dog her size that she can play with and still learn how to dog. The adoptive parents will be patient with her as she adjust to her new home.
