Meet Ben!

Ben’s journey has been one of resilience and transformation. Rescued from a Sumner County hoarding case in the fall of 2023, Ben started his new life shy and shut down at the boarding facility. But everything changed when he found a foster home just before Christmas. Over the past eight months, Ben has blossomed into a loving, playful, and happy family dog!

This sweet boy adores playing fetch with his foster family’s toddler and snuggling on the couch with his foster mom. He’s a fan of stuffed toys and cozy blankets, treating them with care. Ben is a perfect house guest—he doesn’t dig, destroy belongings, or cause trouble. While he’s a homebody who’s happiest in his backyard, he thrives in a consistent routine and will need a secure fence to keep him safe.

Ben is food-motivated (a kitchen companion for sure!) and gets along wonderfully with the resident dog and cat. He enjoys playing with his doggy foster sibling and requires another dog in the home to show him the ropes and help him adjust. While he currently lives with a toddler, he’d prefer a home with older children who can respect his space as he continues to build confidence.

Ben does have a cataract in his right eye and needs regular baths to maintain his coat, but these minor needs don’t stop him from being an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving dog who has overcome so much, Ben is ready to meet you!

Could your home be Ben’s happily ever after?
