Ares

Ares has settled nicely into his foster home and is showing us what a wonderful dog he is. He is a very handsome Pyrenees mix and a sweet, young gentle giant with a calm presence and a truly kind heart. He came into care a bit thin, but with proper care and good nutrition, he is steadily gaining healthy weight and doing great.

Ares gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids, making him a great fit for many types of families. He can be shy when meeting new people, but there’s no aggression—he simply backs away until he feels comfortable. Once he realizes you’re there to offer pets and affection, he warms up quickly.

He would thrive in a home with another dog, as he absolutely loves playing with the dogs in his foster home, and they love playing with him just as much. Ares is crate trained and potty trained, which makes his transition into a new home much easier.

He does bark at activity happening on the other side of the fence, especially since his foster home is on a busy corner with lots of foot traffic, but he responds well and comes inside when asked.

Ares is a gentle, loving companion who just needs a little patience, continued nourishment, and a canine friend to help him truly shine.
