This sweet boy’s story began in one of the worst situations imaginable. He was rescued from the Augusta hoarding case, where dozens of cats were living in heartbreaking conditions. Today, he’s healthy, neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a brighter future.

When he first arrived at the rescue, he was incredibly affectionate. As time went on, though, he started hissing and acting a little “spicy.” At first, we thought his personality had changed... It hadn’t. He was simply telling us he hated being confined. The moment we moved him from a kennel into a spacious cat suite with two other boys, the transformation was instant. Out came the loving, attention-seeking, affectionate gentleman we’d met on day one. He spends his days asking for pets, making friends with the other cats, and reminding us that sometimes behavior is simply communication.

During his veterinary exam, he was diagnosed with stomatitis, an autoimmune condition that causes severe inflammation and painful sores in the mouth. Unfortunately, it’s something we see far too often in cats rescued from hoarding situations. The good news is that the recommended treatment—a full-mouth tooth extraction—has an excellent success rate. While it sounds dramatic, cats adapt remarkably well and are able to eat, play, groom, and live long, happy, comfortable lives without their teeth.

Because he won’t have teeth to defend himself, his future family must promise to keep him safely indoors. An indoor-only life isn’t a sacrifice for him—it’s exactly where he’ll thrive, surrounded by soft beds, loving people, and never having to worry about surviving on his own again. He’s already proven he’s resilient. Now he’s just looking for someone to show him what forever feels like.
