Brenda, a huge thanks for all the amazing work you’re doing with our foster dogs. Your dedication and love really make a world of difference, and it’s so heartwarming to see the positive changes in these pups because of your care. You’re truly a rockstar in their hearts and minds, and we just wanted you to know how much we all appreciate your time, effort, and big heart. Keep being pawesome!
Brenda Says:
What areas do you volunteer in?
I’m lucky enough to be able to volunteer in a few areas, but one of my favorite is being a Foster home. Being able to change the life of not only a dog, but witness the change in the family adopting the dog(s). So many emotions are involved and then to see updates on the Almuni page, fills the cup twice over!
What do you enjoy about volunteering?
We all have our own reasons for volunteering in any avenue. To be surrounded by like-mind individuals who want to work toward the same goal. I’ve met so many new and amazing people and met some of my dearest friends.
What is your favorite volunteer memory or experience?
Cherry, my very first foster in 2019. She came to us sad and broken (as several dogs/cats do). Now 2024 I still get to dog sit on occasion and seeing her keeps me fueled for the next dog in need!
PS her Human parents are the BEST!!!
What's something you want the public to know about volunteering for Beauties and Beasts?
It takes a village. Volunteer for one event a year or foster 1 or 20 dogs/cats a year. There are so many opportunities to be part of such a wonderful community. Grant writing, donation hours, applications, home checks, boarding buddy, merch team, scheduling, cat team, media or event team… the list goes on…
What do you do when you aren’t volunteering for Beauties and Beasts?
I enjoy staying busy, family is always a priority. Taking my dog to Barks and Brews or White Crow is definitely another favorite. PS don’t forget CSB, food/music/etc!! Great locations which are dog friendly and family oriented!
