Whether it's lending a helping hand at events, walking our boarding dogs (even in the dead of winter), or simply being a beacon of positivity, your contributions have made a significant difference in so many animals and humans alike.

What areas do you Volunteer in within the rescue?

I started with Beauties about 8 years ago. I seen a post on facebook about needing help walking dogs. The boarding dogs are my #1. I love their zoomies, and taking them on special outings. I also plan our Bikers for Bullies poker run we host every year, and do the adoption homechecks.

What do you enjoy about volunteering?

There are so many things I love about this rescue. From the dogs to the volunteers we are one big family. We have been through some hard times, and laughed til our bellies hurt, but in the end we are all here for the same reason.

What is your favorite volunteer memory or experience?

It's hard to pick a single memory I love. In general my favor is seeing the dogs transition. They come to us at their lowest, scared and broken.  To see them walk off to their furever home is something that will never get old. To see their adventures post on social media always puts a smile on our face. What we went through with chevelle has changed me. He came out of that backyard broken. He could have easily given up, but he didnt. Chevelle fought for his life. He is a true Beauty, and we fight for every dog.

What's something you want the public to know about volunteering for Beauties and Beasts?

Volunteering is so rewarding. There are so many moving parts to this rescue. We always welcome new volunteers. From working events to being trained and handling dogs there is so much to do. Our volunteers are one big family. I love doing things with my rescue family outside of the volunteering.

What do you do when you aren’t volunteering for Beauties and Beasts?

I've worked in the operating room for the last 21 years. My husband and I love our wind therapy on the bike. Our beauties furbabies keep us busy, honey, tucker, and chevelle.
