For Sam, volunteering is about more than just helping animals—it’s about the sense of community and shared purpose. “I enjoy the community we have created and the common goal that everyone works towards: protecting those without a voice,” she says. “I love that Beauties has created an army of people willing to stand up and speak up for our animals.” Her appreciation for this shared mission is evident in her dedication and the countless ways she contributes.
A Favorite Memory: Seeing the Impact Firsthand
When asked about her favorite volunteer memory, Sam couldn’t choose just one. “All of them, lol,” she says. However, what stands out most to her is watching a dog learn to trust again. “I love watching a dog gain trust, accept love, and find their furever home.” These transformations fuel her passion and remind her why the work she does is so important.
What the Public Should Know About Volunteering
Sam wants everyone to understand the incredible work that goes into running Beauties and Beasts. “We are completely volunteer-run and donation-funded,” she explains. “When we say 100% of your donations go to the animals, we mean it. Not even our poor board members receive money for the countless hours they spend doing this work.” Her message highlights the selflessness and dedication of everyone involved in the rescue.
Life Outside of Volunteering
When Sam isn’t busy helping with Beauties and Beasts, she enjoys spending time with loved ones and indulging in her hobbies. She loves to bake, occasionally tackles her garden when the weeds aren’t winning, and cherishes moments with her friends and family.
