Sadie
Sadie was surrendered by her owners to the Wichita Animal Shelter and ended up on the Euthanasia list. Our volunteers fell in love with her sweet spirit and couldn't let her die. She was surrendered because they state that she bit their two-year-old son a couple different times. The incident that we are aware of involved the child jumping on Sadie while she was laying on her dog bed. This family adopted Sadie from a shelter/rescue three years ago. Sadie is described as affectionate, playful, and curious. Her favorite activities are going on walks and belly rubs. She is housetrained and was an indoor dog. The family loved about her that she is very affectionate and protective of her family.
Sadie is super super sweet, and quickly warms up to most people (is selective with men and will need a proper introduction to them). She moves in pretty fast, skipping initial hellos and getting right to the velcro attitude, the belly rubs and the constant requests of pets, snacks and attention. She just wants to be with you at all time, in every room, doing anything you're doing. If she gets the hint you will be hanging out in a room, she will lie down and nap by your side. The moment you get up, she gets up and follows you around. She enjoys sprints, walks and naps all equally and is a quiet beauty once she is settled in a space. Bonus point that she doesn't throw a tantrum if left alone while chilling. She knows you're around and will just keep an ear on you!
Sadie is a little reactive to bikes, motorcycles, vacuum cleaners, lawn mowers, trailers and noises of that kind. If not anticipated, she will try to bolt and jump on the source of noise or the biker. Nothing that a squirt bottle wouldn't correct though, and she quickly bounces back to asking for treats and belly rubs. She just wants to please so bad and be called a good girl!
Sadie is in boarding and is looking for a foster or forever home with lots of walks and belly rubs to make her the happiest girl for life.
