Dudley is currently in a foster home with 4 other dogs - ranging in size from 23 pounds to 60 pounds. He takes queues well while playing with the 2 smallest foster siblings and gives them space when they ask. He loves to wrestle and run with the 2 other big ones! He enjoys chewing toys and bones - and has no problems with his people taking them away or moving them. He eats meals away from the other dogs to avoid any issues, but he takes treats well with everyone and waits patiently for his turn!
Dudley sometimes gets overexcited – but is learning better manners. He corrects easily with a water bottle (you don’t even have to squirt him, just show him you have it and he calms right down.) Getting his energy walked or run off helps tremendously with his behavior - even just playing in the yard with the other dogs helps him get tuckered out.
He has done well on walks - sometimes pulling at first but when he calms down from the initial excitement he stops pulling and walks very nicely. He has not had any accidents at his foster home in the house and does well in the back yard (which is only a 4 foot fence). He is kennel trained - he goes into his kennel if his fosters are gone during the day and at night for bedtime. He is learning better manners and tricks, already knows that he has to sit nicely for his food, and when he is getting his leash on. He knows basic commands such as sit, shake, lay down and wait. He is a very smart, fast learning boy!
Dudley loves kiddos but if he’s got extra energy he will sometimes get overexcited. With a little bit of work and training (and plenty of exercise!) this boy will make a great addition to any home!
