Dudley is enjoying his time with his foster family! AFter an almost too late offer to pull him, he was more than happy to walk out of the shelter! He came into his foster home to 3 dog foster siblings - and is doing great. He takes queues well while playing and gives them space when they ask. He enjoys chewing toys and bones - and has no problems with his people taking them away or moving them. He does get a little mouthy while playing - but his foster is working on correcting this with verbal commands and giving toys.
He is working on house manners - sometimes he gets too excited but he calms down fairly quickly and corrects easily with a squirt from a water bottle.
He has done well on walks - sometimes pullin at first but when he calms down from the initial excitement he stops pulling and walks very nicely. He has not had any accidents at his foster home in the house and does well in the back yard (which is only a 4 foot fence). He is kennel trained - he goes into his kennel if his fosters are gone during the day and at night for bedtime. He whines at first but when he realizes it is bedtime he calms down quickly and goes to sleep (this has been getting better the longer he has been with his foster). He is learning manners and tricks, already knows that he has to sit nicely for his food, and when he is getting his leash on. He knows basic commands such as sit, shake and lay down. He is a very smart, fast learning boy and likes to be where his people are. He will follow you around or whine a bit if he is blocked in another room. He has met several new people of all ages and has done great with them all (kids and adults). With a little bit of work and training this boy will make a great addition to any home!
