Laika

Meet Laika, a beautiful 53-lb Shepherd mix looking for a forever home where she can enjoy plenty of adventure, companionship, and snuggle time.

Laika loves people and does wonderfully in a home environment. She’s affectionate, loyal, and always happy to curl up with her person after a busy day. She also rides great in the car and enjoys going for walks, making her a wonderful companion for someone who likes to get out and explore.

Laika is a smart girl who knows sit, shake, and lay down. She walks nicely on leash and is good about waiting her turn. She loves playing with balls and especially loves water, so outdoor adventures are definitely her style.

Like many Shepherds, Laika is intelligent, expressive, and sometimes vocal when she has something to say. She can be selective with other dogs and has shown fence reactivity toward dogs on the other side of a fence, so thoughtful introductions and appropriate management are important. Laika is not cat friendly, and her compatibility with children is currently unknown.

Laika is currently in boarding and would love to trade kennel life for a home of her own. She would thrive with someone who appreciates her Shepherd personality and can provide the structure, love, and companionship she deserves. In return, Laika will be a devoted sidekick ready for car rides, walks, games of ball, splashing in the water, and plenty of snuggling at the end of the day.
