Bruce does best when he has a routine. Structure in the home will be very important. He doesn't like his kennel but he will go in just fine if you give him treats. When he's in his kennel, he loves a kong with peanut butter in it. If left for long periods of time, he will have accidents in the crate sometimes, but he has gotten much better over time. He does have some stranger danger but with slow introductions he does okay. He loves rope toys. He loves nylabones as well but needs to be in his own space as he tends to guard them. He also needs to be fed separately. He loves cudding and taking naps and he absolutely LOVES to be covered up when doing so. He gets cold easily 😉. He smiles when he's excited or nervous. He does not like water or having his feet touched. Bruce would do best as the only dog in the home or with a submissive female.
From a volunteer who took him for a field trip:
Bruce Almighty. The gentle giant. Bruce is such a gentleman. He’s an easy walk on the leash, not bothered by scooters, cyclists, joggers or water fountains. Statues kinda freak him out though. He’s a dream passenger in the car and eats his cheeseburgers with serious appreciation. If you’re not friends with Bruce, you’re missing out.
